Untold harm, misery and torment can be brought onto a person if they are trying to believe and hold onto a false word that really was not coming from the Lord in the first place. There are rules to any game and you have to know the rules of the prophetic game so you do not get duped into following a false Word from the Lord.<br /><br />John Bevere does an incredible job in explaining the flip side to this gift and gives real life experiences of people have had their lives totally ruined as a result of following a false word given to them by either a false prophet or from a prophet who just made a simple mistake. This book is major must-read for any pastor and for any believer who believes in this gift for today. Many people have married the wrong people and have taken the wrong jobs in this life - all because they did not know how to properly judge and discern when a word did come their way from a prophet.<br /><br />On a scale of 1-10, this book is a solid 10 - especially in the end times we are now living in where the Bible tells us that that false teachers and false prophets will be coming our way. It is advisable to be armed with the right knowledge on the issue.<br /><br />"Prophets and Personal Prophecies" by Bill Hamon<br /><br />This is volume 1 of a 3 volume set written by Bill Hamon, who is also a recognized prophet in the Body of Christ. He wrote three volumes on details in the lives of people who were able to walk with this gift given by the Lord. Mr. Hamon relates good detail of what the Lord would expect in the growth of His prophets and what to look out for and how to walk properly and effectively with this gift.<br /><br />This man has learned much through trial and error in his own personal life with this gift - and his knowledge and expertise in this area can really help speed up your personal growth in this area if you have been called by the Lord to walk in this gift and office.<br /><br />The other two volumes are:<br /><br />a) "Prophets and the Prophetic Movement, Vol. 2 - God's Prophetic Move Today <br /><br />b) "<a href="http://www.bibleknowledgebookstore.com/item/hamon-bill/prophets-pitfalls-principles/12595.html">Prophets Pitfalls and Principles: God' Prophetic People Today</a> <br /><br />I would highly recommend these three books as companions to the book by Graham Cooke titled "Developing Your Prophetic Gifting" mentioned above for all budding and developing prophets.
